How we choose products
The short version: we compare products on verifiable data — manufacturer specifications, feature sets, pricing, warranty terms — and we synthesize patterns from large numbers of real owner reviews. We do not hands-on test products in a lab, and we will never pretend that we do.
What we actually do
Spec-level comparison. For each category we identify the specifications that genuinely matter to a buyer (for an air fryer: usable capacity, wattage, temperature range, basket dimensions, dishwasher-safe parts; for cookware: materials, oven-safe limits, compatibility, warranty). We collect those specs from manufacturer documentation and normalize them so products can be compared on equal footing.
Owner-review synthesis. Individual reviews can be noise; hundreds of them show patterns. We look at what actual owners consistently praise or complain about — durability issues, real-world capacity vs. claimed, coating wear — and factor those patterns into our guidance and our interactive finders.
Value analysis. We compare price ranges against feature sets to flag where you're paying for real capability versus branding.
Data freshness. Product data in our finders carries a "specs last verified" date. Prices and availability change constantly — always confirm at the retailer.
What we don't do
- We don't hands-on test products, and we never claim to.
- We don't accept payment for placement or positive coverage. No brand can buy a recommendation.
- We don't invent experiences, authors, or credentials.
